Duane Raymond Allen, was arrested after trying to steal a woman's purse in the parking lot of Total Wine, located in the 3300 block of Corridor Marketplace around 12:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, according to an Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesperson.

The victim stated that she was getting out of her vehicle in the parking lot when the suspect stopped his car behind her and came up to her with a crowbar, attempting to snatch her purse.

The two struggled over her purse and the suspect threatened to kill her before several good samaritans came to the victim's aid and grabbed the suspect away from her, according to investigators.

Once police arrived, it was determined that the suspect was also responsible for a previous robbery reported in Jessup.

Allen reportedly approached a victim who was taking out his trash in the 2400 block of Merritt Drive earlier that day, and demanded money.

The victim handed Allen between $60 and $80 in cash before Allen fled in a white sedan toward Jessup Road.

Police have not ruled out the possibility of more victims of Allen, and are encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward and contact detectives at 410-222-6155 or the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
